The ILF Division 4 Fall Conference was today. I was given the opportunity to speak for an hour on the subject of blogs and libraries. During my time slot, there were four other concurrent sessions, so competition was fierce for attendees. :-) I had about 20 people attend my session and, while most had heard of blogs, none had ever started one. Since we were in a computer lab, I allowed 10-15 minutes at the end for those that wanted to to create their own blogs and get started. I’m happy to say that I’ve helped bring 7 or 8 new bloggers into the world (or blogosphere). Woo-hoo!

There are so many ways that libraries can make excellent use of blogs (as I’ve written before), I’m glad that so many who attended my session were interested and wanted to jump in and get one started. That’s awesome!
