Frappr

Yes, it’s another odd name for some new Internet technology. This one’s interesting in that it tracks members of groups. It’s like a big map where you can stick a pin to say where you’re from. And it uses Google’s cool mapping technologies to make it easy and interesting to use.
I’ve created one called Blogging Librarians. If you’re a librarian and you blog, please click the link and add yourself to the map. Once you’re at the site, all you have to do is click “Add Yourself” (or scroll down) and put in some basic information, like Name (doesn’t have to be legal name), Zip Code (for placement on the map), and a comment (or “ShoutOut”). It’s that easy.
So, all you Blogging Librarians out there, join the Frappr group and show where you’re at.

Nice use of Frappr! It’s a hoot to see where everyone is. What’s really funny to me is that I just realized that until now I hadn’t really given much, if any, thought, to the locations of all the librarians whose blogs I read on a daily basis.

Hi, it will not allow me to be in the city I live in or the one I work in. Any idea why? mississauga Ontario has over 3/4 of a million people. should be big enough to be known.
