LibraryThing
Posted by pfitz under Libraries, Technology
Here’s another excellent library-related technology tool. It’s called LibraryThing and it allows you to catalog your books online. This isn’t really intended for formal libraries–they have their own systems. This is for personal libraries.
There are tons of great features (including searching the Library of Congress, Amazon, and over 30 major libraries from around the world, importing/exporting, LC/Dewey, and a virtual bookshelf using cover images) and you can catalog up to 200 books for free, or get unlimited books listed for $10/year or $25/life. I’ve described all the features on my personal blog: Pfitz’s Miscellany. Check it out to see what all the fuss is about. (In only 2 1/2 months, they’ve had over 810,000 books cataloged!)
